Meddygfa Taf is a rural GP surgery named after the local river Taf and provides general medical care to the patients of Whitland and the surrounding towns and villages.

The practice area extends from the coast of Laugharne and Pendine in the south, to Crymych in the north.  It also includes the small towns of St Clears and Narberth which make up its eastern and western boundaries respectively, covering 400 square miles in total.

The main local industry around Whitland is farming and tourism, generating a strong community spirit, proud of its sporting and cultural heritage.

There are approximately 7250 patients registered with the practice.  Meddygfa Taf has a strong emphasis on Medical Education and training and has been a GP training practice for over 30 years.  The practice is also involved with Undergraduate Training of medical students from both Cardiff and Swansea Medical Schools.
